Assignment of a device to a specific eero

i am using 2,4GHz cameras and 2,4GHz doorbells in a wifi consisting of 3 eero pros

unfortunately sometimes a device decides after a couple of weeks to connected not to the nearest thus strongest eero but to one far away resulting in a rotten connection. Restarting the device does not help since it reconnects to the far away eero again....

the only way how i can resolve this problem is to restart the whole eero network.

the perfect solution would be the ability to asign a certain device to a certain eero in order to warrant the best available connection for critical devices. this is particularly important for devices like doorbells as only a perfect wifi connection results in a seamless forwarding of a call to my mobile.....

  • Wifi does not work this way.  A client chooses what AP to connect to, not the AP.  The perfect solution is for the client manufacturer to specify the AP to connect to versus any MAC AP with the SSID.
