Suitable ethernet hub or switch to work with eero?
Before I bought my eero system, I had an Apple AirPort Extreme as my wifi router (connected to my broadband cable modem), which provided three ethernet ports. That allowed me to have my iMac, my Windows laptop, and my arlo base station all wired in. Now that I have eero, and only one open ethernet port on the gateway unit to which my arlo base station is now connected, I have to connect my other computers over wifi. Not optimal. The best speeds are experienced when wired. But I can't do that now, because the eero system doesn't give me the ports I need. Man, I sure wish these gateway units had more ports! I'm thinking that maybe I should hang some sort of ethernet hub or switch on the open port of the eero gateway unit, and then plug my other devices into that. Does that sound like a workable solution? If so, would anyone have a good suggestion for an inexpensive hub/switch that will do the job well?
