4Rename devices
Ability to rename devices that either don’t show a descriptive host name (eg. echo devices) or have blank values. It will be helpful to figure out which device is which.

This has been a feature in the app for awhile now. You can tap on a device and give it a nickname to set it to whatever you want.

I haven’t looked at release notes but I’ve noticed over last week or so that I can now rename any device. Before it would not let you rename some. My sons Nintendo switch was a example that I can now fix.
I love that new features are being pursued for existing products. Rare to see these days.

New to eero, but this most definitely doesn't work for any device, as of Feb '22.
I can type a new name in, but there is no save button like shown in this support article:
Has nickname feature been removed?

bruce-eero Just type in the new name, and then, at least for me on an iOS device, I just tap “done” on my keyboard (next to the space at) and then hit the back button in the top left.

cMoo92 you rock. The support article, and external how-to blogs, show a Save button in the upper right corner. I guess they got rid of this and haven't updated docs. But on Android there is a check mark in the lower right of the keyboard, and this worked! Very happy to be able to describe all my devices accurately. Thank you!

Hi, I've got the pro 6 and changing names of devices and nicknames are not possible. Any advise?

Greg I got the eero pro 6E and looks like they use the same app. Do you mean the nicknames don’t save? If you use iOS, tap the nickname field, enter a new name, and then tap “Done” on the onscreen keyboard or “return” on the physical iPad keyboard. When you tap the back arrow, the nickname should be saved.
