Ability to backup complete configuration and restore that configuration when replacing failed device or upgrading to new.

I just had TWO AX1800 Eero gateway devices fail. Support took 6 hours and no resolve and a disbelieve that both gateways are bad. I went to the store, purchased a new on, installed and it worked out of the box. I was told earlier that I could not restore my settings, hours of work, named devices, port mappings, etc. I called support and go someone that said he would restore everything from my old network to my new. Well, we got all the AP's connected but, he deleted my old network, now I have to label everything again and add all my customizations.

If only Eero would allow the capability to backup your config and easily restore to new or replaced devices without calling support!

  • I too would love to see this feature. I know it is rare when you have to factory reset, and in my experience 100% of the time was due to the ISP's modem not playing nicely and wasting an hour of a bunch of power cycles. Labeling everything, adding port forwarding, DHCP Reservations are a pain and importing a config file would be awesome! If this is not being done for some sort of security issue then at least the Eero techs should be able to perform this on a call.

I've never had a dud before, and the times I thought I did I simply plugged in another Eero and used it as the gateway and the other "dud" connected right away.
