Remove DHCP reservation for a device with 2 IPs?

I am running a home assistant instance from a virtual machine.  When I spin up the VM, eero gives it an IP.  However, this is not the IP I need it to use, as lots of IoT devices are looking for my MQQT router (hosted on the VM as well).  So I go to my eero app, add a reservation with the new VM and the correct IP.  Restart the network.  When I look at the VM after I come back, I see that it is listed as the correct IP that I assigned, but when I try to find it on the network, I can only reach it with it's old IP.  Closer inspection of the device in the eero app shows that it has TWO IPs... How can I tell eero to forget the old one???
