Frontier 1Gb fiber without Arris

Just discovered Frontier is offering a couple of 6e's with fios, but the tutorial seems to show that it still uses the Arris modem. The only thing different is you turn off Wifi. Which doesn't make sense to me as it's not a modern, it's a router and only acts as a gateway. I've already done this a long time ago and recently upgraded to the Pro 6e, so I'm gaining nothing here.

Despite what Frontier wants me to do, is directly connecting to the ONT supported by Eero? Or have they rigged it to not recognize anything but the Arris?
