Block (Blacklist) certain websites

I need to have the ability to block certain websites in the profiles area. It would also be great to have the ability to whitelist certain sites as well.

Jeff C. Any update on this feature request?  Is it on the roadmap?

Thanks for checking in, Jason. We don't have any updates to share at this time, but as soon as I do, I'll post an update to the thread. Thanks for sharing your interest in this feature!

Jeff C.  I have two friends with eero. For all three of us, this is the only thing holding us back from getting eero plus. I know its a small sample size, but that has to indicate there are other people out there who are waiting on this feature.

Jeff C.  While I know you have some simple blocking in your security eero's plus add on, it's rather lacking and this would definitely plug some holes that are left open with the current offerings.  I nice request if I say so myself.

My old 10+ year old netgear has a block websites option. Please consider adding this.

We're already paying $400+ for 3 eeros; would be nice to have this option without paying extra per month on top of the existing large price tag. Netgear has been in business for a long time and doesn't have a monthly fee for their products.

This seems like an obvious/necessary feature for Eero Plus. As I commented elsewhere. If I can get more granular filtering using OpenDNS' $10/year plan, why can't I get this using Eero's much pricier option?

I understand and value Eero's approach to making configuration easy and dead simple. However, I think that almost all people who are interesting in family filters will also want the ability to whitelist/blacklist.

I'd love to see this feature added as well.  It's literally the only thing I miss from my old router that I replaced.

I definitely agree with this suggestion. It would be nice to do this via family profiles for certain times of the day.

I see this as a requirement for any security filter and very surprised it is not yet available. Can you provide an update if this is even on the roadmap and if there is an expected date for this feature?  There are many aspects of eero plus that I love, but the lack of this feature is making me think I need to move back to openDNS.

I am also looking for this feature to be completed sooner than later.

Jim Withrow Doesn't seem like Eero has any plans or interest in implementing this very basic and very necessary feature.

wase4711 That may be the case for you, but it's a popular and widely available feature elsewhere  (see OpenDNS).

then use it via open DNS!

wase4711 That's what I'm currently doing, but using OpenDNS doesn't allow the profile- or device-based granularity that Eero Plus makes possible. Thus all the people here (and in other similar threads) requesting that the feature be included with Eero Plus. Clearly it is a desired feature.

Egads Eero. No specific website blocking or scheduled blocking of websites (i.e. YouTube blocking during homework hours). I am truly starting to rethink my Eero and Eero Plus purchases. Can Product Management please comment as to if and when we will see this functionality.

This is definitely a feature I would need to see before subscribing to eero plus. A search on this topic indicates that this has been a desired feature for some time. Jeff C. , can you or some other Eero employee please comment about when/if this feature will be added?

Agree with others. My kids are at the point where I want to give them some internet access, but the filter groups are simply not enough. I need the ability to apply whitelists and blacklists to a family profile. Without this basic functionality, I will soon be looking elsewhere for a router. OpenDNS does not give you device/group level settings. It's an all or nothing solution from what I can tell for the whole network. That doesn't work for parents who can hit sites on the internet at any time of day, but I want my kids blocked from certain things during homework hours or other times when they simply are not supposed to be using YouTube, etc.

Same here... my timeline for waiting on this feature has run out. I absolutely love my eero router and access points that built what is by far the best wireless network coverage I have ever seen for my home. I even signed up for eero plus as soon as it came out last year to support the company because I like their products so much... but this is a very basic feature that is becoming more critical with kids that are getting older. It should be such a basic piece of functionality (especially for those that sign up for eero plus). I really don't understand why it hasn't been added to the system at this point.

For anyone with school age kids this is would be a huge improvement. All the schools in our area have moved towards online homework and being able to blacklist all the gaming sites would make it that much easier to know that I can finish my work without having to constantly check  on the kids to make sure tthey are not sidetracked on utube or some gaming site.

I just purchased an eero plus system assuming that blacklist/whitelist would be an option on this high-end product. But it's not! As a desperate parent I fell for a strong but evasive sales pitch. I wish I still had my ancient Netgear router, the one I could actually customize content filtering on.

weaves Jeff C. Sorry to bump this thread, but can we get an idea if this feature is or will be on the product roadmap? Due to known issues involving use of Eero with Circle, I would like to know if I should stick with Eero, or ditch it and by a Circle along with a different router.
