Feature Request: Add support for PPPoE

many ISPs, including CenturyLink require PPPoE. Without this support, eero cannot be used as a router and only as a bridge.

Same here. Centurylink Fiber user which blows Comcast away. But I've been stuck using my eero units in bridge mode with no access to the great features beyond extended coverage. There have been requests for PPPoE support since the routers first launched. A more transparent answer one way or another would be great.

Just wanted to chime back in on this. Definitely need this support! I know supporting PPPoE is complex due to all the variables to factor in, but this is super important given there is a trend of more ISPs to require it, not less.

+1. I already own 4 Eeros.  Please don't make me use their crappy actiontec router and have to put my eeros in bridge mode. Thank You!

The lack of PPPOE and VLAN support will affect every CL fiber customer in Portland OR, and likely everywhere else CL is building out their fiber plant.

Did I mention I'd #bedelighted to beta test this on my 4 eeros

Throwing in one more request.  You NEED to fix this now.  I've been fighting with my Century Link router for months because of it.

Yes, please add this! I purchased Eero because I saw it as a leader in this field and I was convinced it was the best. Was shocked when I switched ISPs and ran into this issue. My eeros function okay in bridge mode, but my Plex hates it.

Eero engineering - have you committed to supporting PPPoE? If so, when can users expect to see this?

Please add PPPoE. I want to use my eero as a router not a bridge mode!!!!

Eero Plus is why I continue to invest in Eero for my home rather than a competitor.  Eero Plus doesn't/can't work in Bridge Mode.  So the real value of Eero requires you to support PPPoE!

exmsde I second this! The recent enhancement to Eero Plus totally shifted the value proposition for me and now I'd like to buy the service and can't due to lack of PPPoE and VLANs for CenturyLink Fiber

exmsde Same here. I really want to bring Eero Plus and the advanced parental controls to my household but am stuck at the moment without PPoE and VLAN support. I'm also on Centurylink Fiber. I am an original Kickstarter backer and way back then PPoE was something that was talked about for consideration in a future software upgrade. It's been nearly 2 years. I love my Eero network but can't take full advantage of it in bridge mode. Can someone at Eero please give us a definitive update on this?

It's frustrating because I invested $500 in this product so I don't want to switch to a competitor, but I'm definitely not getting a commensurate ROI when I'm forced to run the Eeros in bridge mode.

This was asked almost a year ago....It doesn't look like they will add the feature....why pay for eero plus? I feel like I wasted money. I love my eero but not supporting something like this is very confusing. Can we get a reason or something? Is it a hardware limitation or what?

    Agree - it is ridiculous.

Count me in as another lost Eero plus customer due to this limitation.

    Big +1.

I'm currently on the fence about adding to my Eero network or swapping out my Gen 1 eeros for other mesh offering because of this issue.

This is huge for me.  I refuse to buy Eero (as much as I might want to) without PPPoE support.  I'm limping along for now, but I don't know how much longer I can go without upgrading my wifi.  Come on Eero!

I'm looking at changing ISP's due to my ISP increasing prices so much. It'd be nice to not be pricing out CenturyLink and having to spend $10 a month on their modem when I'm already spending $10 a month on eero plus.

VegasUser I'm on CL. In my area, they can't be beat on price. I pay $45/mo for life for 80 down/10 up. I purchased the modem for $100 which isn't bad if you stay with them for at least 1 yr. But, their customer service is as bad as it gets, speed isn't always reliable, and eero's lack of PPPOE support make it a mixed bag. I love the price, not so much the product as a whole.

ttnicky I'm at the point where I just need to give CL a try, as before any contract or deals CL is $30 a month cheaper than what I'm paying my current ISP. For that much less a month, there's some degree of service reliability I'll accept to save me that much a month. Just need to try it before committing.

Saw a headline a bit ago about Eero laying off a sizable chunk of their staff. Am afraid this means the possibility of PPPOE support in the future is even less likely.

I live in a rural area and my wireless ISP uses PPPoE.  My router was quite old and so I purchased an eero system to upgrade it.  I should have verified that eero had PPPoE support, but it seemed like such a standard thing that every other router I've ever configured had – I just figured it was table stakes.  So for now I'm keeping my old router and double-NATing to the eero.  I'm enjoying the improved wireless coverage that eero provides, but the point was also to decommission and old (and unreliable - requiring frequent reboots) router.

I don't want to have to purchase yet another router to replace the my old one.  I sure would love for eero to add PPPoE support.  Thank you (in advance) for listening eero!

Mike Just like you! I should have checked the PPPoE before. I wish I bought Google's instead of Eero.

Mike I also live in a rule area and have to use PPPoE. I really enjoyed buy a new modem/router just so I could use the eero router. 😒
