Feature Request - Reboot from App (remotely reboot)

I recently had to reboot 2 of my EERO's.  Had to manually go unplug them and then plug them back in.  Downstairs, then upstairs.  I tell ya...lol  ;)

Would be nice to have a single "Reboot" button in the App that just reboots all EERO's on my network.  And, automatically handle any sequencing of reboots between EEROs (if required).

  • I would love this option.  I have a device setup with port forwarding and sometimes it looses the connection.  A reboot normally helps. It would be nice to do this remotely.

  • I requested this earlier, and haven't heard much in the way of an update on it.  It would make things a lot easier than having to unplug each Eero to reboot them.

  • I had to reboot the other day to force my AppleTV (which I moved to the second floor) to reattach to the network on a different hub. I'll add that putting a "reboot primary" and "reboot individual" actions would be most helpful for diagnosing issues.

  • Just checking in... since this seems to be the most requested feature and (seemingly) the easiest to implement; when can we expect the next update? I'm just curious how often the team is trying to push out new features.

    As you may have seen, we just released a new update to the eero app. Our team has been hard at work on this update, and we are excited to start working on various improvements and new features. No updates at this time on reboot from app, but should there be any news, this thread will absolutely be updated.

  • So there technically is a way to reboot all Eero's remotely (or on Wifi) right now which I use all the time.  If you change a DNS server it causes all the Eero's to reboot for the change.  I just toggle my secondary from 8.8.4.4 to 8.8.4.5, wait for a reboot, then change it back (which triggers a second reboot). 

    For me itt's a usable stop-gap solution until there's a real reboot option (still need a "reboot Office Eero" option to do one at a time.

  • Alternatively, you could just switch the DNS servers, using 8.8.4.4 as primary and 8.8.8.8 as secondary, only rebooting once. Additionally, changing the Subnet IP will accomplish a reboot as well. This of course brings with it the potentially undesired side effect of changing your subnet settings, IP addresses, and removing port forwards and reservations, if you have those.

  • milder Scott budkow clever solution! Will keep it in mind whenever I need to reset one of my eero's. Your solution does involve resetting the whole system twice. Scott's note does "fix" this issue tho.

  • PLEASE make this happen.  I can restart everything else on my home network except my Eero devices.

  • +1 It would be great to trigger a restart through the app instead of going through every floor and unplugging and plugging every eero. Also, this allows triggering the restart remotely when I'm not home and my devices are not connecting as it should.
