Feature Request - Management of connected users

It would be nice to be able to remove a connected device from the network.  As an example when I setup the network my daughter allowed some one on and not as a guest.  This user can now connect to our network anytime they return to our house.  It would be nice to be able to select the user from the list and have an option to remove from network.  As an aside you could also have the option to black list a device so they can never connect. in the same screen as an option.  One more item that would be good is to see the amount of data the account has used up and down stream.  I guess this is more of a story than an individual request.

    Hi  rhalibur

Thanks for your feature request! I made to sure to redirect people from the other related topic so they can find this one.

An extension to the ability to boot a user is having the ability to transfer a device connected to your main network to a guest network for example.

I've had similar management concerns, and solved it by creating a guest profile. Unknown guests that connect get added here, and I can then turn off all unknown guests at will. Really helps to manage it.

    Jeff C.,

Having the ability to kick a device off the network would be very helpful. It would be nice to have that tool available for use if and when needed. What good does being able to see what is connected if you can't remove a device if needed? Thanks

    Hi everyone!

I'm happy to share that this feature has been implemented into the eero app!

From within the eero app, you can block any devices that you believe shouldn't be on your network. For more on this feature, please see the following help center article:

How do I block unwanted devices on my network?

has there been any movement on this post as to having the ability to remove computers from my eero network and not just block them or move them to a guest profile?

I wouldn't call this Feature Request as Implemented.  The original request is to be able to remove devices altogether, not just block them.  If I get a new phone, I don't want to see my old phone just sitting there in the list of devices.  It would be nice to just remove or delete devices.

Very odd... this request was to manage devices including the ability to remove and block.  Though blocking is available now, the ability to do something as simple as remove is not available.  Truly a head scratcher here since I have always been able to remove devices with other routers and this request is 3 years old.  Even more odd it shows as implemented when we still cannot remove a device.

Richardk7 yes, I was trying to get the ability to remove devices from the Recently Online list too.  Saw this post and had high hopes.  Eero needs to reopen this feature request, or add a new one with the Remove Device from Recently Online as the feature request.

I am not sure why this is so hard to do but seemingly there must be some tangle of pointers in the gateway that makes it not trivial.  What I can't figure out is if the comments about the devices rolling off the list after 7 days of no activity is accurate.  Mine DO NOT do this, and based on the comments in this thread, many, many other users have the same issue.  It would be good to get a definitive answer as to whether this is how it should be working, and what we can/should do to get it to operate correctly.  I have a bunch of iPhones & iPads on the list due to the way you can use Private Address in these IOS devices.  It exaserbates  this inability of Eero to delete devices on my network.

I know that this is not really impacting the functionality of the Eero system, rather it is just a nuisance to deal with when trying to administer the network and check for things that look wonky.  I find Eero to be pretty good, and it could elevate to great with just a few of these seemingly small changes to make running it better.

      Have a good day all!!

txgunlover Addabob Agreed 100%, and like you noted the private addresses do not help.  Oddly, that is exactly why I started to research.  I saw the fake addresses, change my settings to turn this off but those fake addresses are still there today, several weeks later.  Though there have been comments about those old addresses drop off, it is not dropping for me.  Also like you noted, I am enjoying the router, just hard to manage profiles for example with all that extra ‘bad data’.

Richardk7 well, my issue is now gone.  Not exactly sure when it happened, but I no longer have any of the old devices on my network.  And people who access then are not around for 7 days are gone...  So, not sure if there were some changes in an update, but mine now seems to be working correctly.  I have also "fixed" the devices accessing my network in private mode so I don't have all of these seemingly unknown devices floating around any longer.  Good luck all, but my issue is now A-OK!!

Addabob Thanks for the heads up!  I just logged in and I do not see all those old devices now either.  I see there was an update pushed out earlier this week for me, might be related.  We still have yet to be able to actually manage devices where we can simply delete someone or an old device that is no longer on the network.  But I can live with this since the ‘bad data’ drops off after 7 days now.  Thanks again.

the only way i was able to remove old devices was to delete the entire network and start over.  the biggest pain in the rear...EERO when are you going to correct this?

This needs to be fixed. I previously gave access to a friend. We now have option for guest access but she is still linked to main account. I’ve blocked her, but whenever she visits I need to unblock her so she can use internet but as she’s on main account, has full access. I need to delete her device so she can join guest account.
also, my old devices are all still registered.

Not sure how else to get this answered from Eero. It's clear that a lot of their customers require this. I can't imagine it's difficult to implement either. EERO, PLEASE ADDRESS THIS!!!

Clearly not something eero support paying any attention to as a new customer 09-2021 this topic has been in discussion for 4 years!.. think I purchased a Lemon!..need a much easier solution. I have 30 devices connected yet my list of connected/disconnected or offline is well over 80 devices! 2 weeks in and no sign of them being removed or falling off the lists!
