Connect eero to Spectrum
My IPS is spectrum. I have 3 boxes; 2 towers & one that looks like a traditional modem.
There are no free ports on the modem.
The taller tower is the router & only has an ethernet port available.
The smaller tower has 4 ports open but they are labeled LAN...
My IPS supports my home computer & a security system.
Where do I connect the eero???
I’m not familiar with Spectrum and why the heck they’d have 3 pieces of equipment, but you should be able to just plug the eero into the one that looks like a modem and not use the other 2 pieces of eqpt. If you only want to run your eero in bridge mode (meaning it just handles WiFi, and then your Spectrum router does the router stuff), you can connect your eero to one of those available LAN ports.
Hi, Admiha – Thanks for taking the time to post, and welcome to the Community forums!
In this situation, as cMoo mentioned, it sounds like you might have some extra pieces of equipment that you no longer need to use now that you have the eero system. Ideally, you would plug the primary eero unit directly into the single-port modem after unplugging the other router.

Hello, I also have Spectrum and have connected the "main" Eero unit directly to the Spectrum modem. WiFi works great. The problem I am having is with a "wired" connection. I have tried plugging my laptop (Macbook pro) on the second port of the "main" Eero unit. It appears to work for a while, but when demand increases (Zoom conference) it starts to fail. My laptop network status says that it cannot acquire an IP address. Suggestions?
