Unable to ping port opened via app

Hello, I have an eero system with it connected via cat to my ATT Arris nvg 589 router. I disabled the radios on the Arris router. Everything works fine and the eero does get an external IP from the Arris. 

I am need of opening a port so that an external website can push some data to my machine. I went to the eero app and opened the port. I am able to ping the external IP but not when the port is added to it.

I was wondering if anybody else has come across this. It could be that something needs to be enabled in the ATT router(?).

  • What port number are you trying to open? It’s possible that’s causing the issue.

      cMoo92 thanks for responding. It is a high number 51050 recommended by the site. I have also used ports under 10k. Using ngrok works fine but I don’t want to pay for it if there is a way to do the same with eero/att
