Using Airport Extreme with eero

I recently transitioned from a two Apple Extreme setup to a five eero 6 mesh.  I've been able to get all my IoT devices to connect to the eero except for one hub that communicates with some water leak sensors throughout the house.  I've tried everything suggested by the water detector hub company and by eero and that hub just won't connect.

A suggestion from eero support was to connect my Airport Extreme to the LAN port on my eero 6 gateway node and set it up to broadcast another wifi network (different name, of course).  Then I can try to get the water detector hub to connect to the internet via the Airport.

Has anyone does this successfully?  If so, would I have NAT on or off on the Airport Extreme?  It seems that it should be off so that the router in the eero is giving out the IP addresses.  But I'm not exactly sure how the auto-configuring WAN/LAN ports on the eero 6 work.

Thanks!

    Hello markwhy ,

I would try with the NAT on the Airport Extreme off first. I don't think most IoT devices like being in a double NAT. I also want to take a look at the ticket you had with us if you are okay with that. I will send you a direct message shortly requesting some information so I can take a look at it.
