Eero Plus

I am on trial for the Zscaler and encrypt.me .

Would like to clarify a few things.

1.  Is Zscaler activated on all of my Eero routers?

2. After I install encrypt.me on my devices, is Zscaler activated when encrypt.me is turned on my macbook, iphone or ipad when I travel? If not how do i activate zscaler when traveling?

  • The Zscaler part of the eero Plus service is only part of your local eero network. When you’re away from home, your device is not protected or any traffic filtered.

encrypt.me is a completely independent product/service that is just part of the eero Plus bundle—just like 1Password and Malwarebytes.

  • Thanks for the info.

I am testing Zscaler on my local network and I do not see any of the ads blocked via Ad Blocking feature.

Also, I don't see any threats blocks even though I went to some sites that do contain threats.  How do I know it's working and is there a way to drill down on the way traffic is being inspected correctly?  I have Advanced Security turned on.

maverick What happened to me was that some of my 40+ devices accidentally were connecting to my Arris router wifi, not the Eero router. Thus eero Plus wasn't protecting devices on the Arris, and ads were coming through. Something to check there anyway. (I turned off the Arris wifi but kept its other functions intact).

cotedan87 Thanks.  I checked and it's only connected to the Eero routers.  I did notice that some of the ads are blocked though.

I have about 25+ devices and it seems to be okay except for a few sites plus webex.  With traditional enterprise security they would allow us to whitelist certain applications or sites.  If they allowed for it for retail it would fix some issues I am experiencing with latency.

  • ok good. Some ads do come through - they're often camouflaged as "supporting sponsors" and things like that.... but overall, most are blocked. Go to any major newspaper website with and without the ad blockers - huge difference.
