Support for the Desktop
I'd like to have the ability to manage eero from a desktop. The phone apps were well thought out, and work well. However, having the ability to do this from my laptop/desktop would be very useful for me anyway. Either browser or (for me) a Windows 10 UWP would be awesome!

How can this still be the case?!? I just got the Eero Pro 6 and need to copy IP and mac addresses for use on my laptop. Seriously supposed to transcribe from my f'ng phone?!
Here's the extra special bonus - THEY HAVE A WEB INTERFACE ALREADY but only available to registered custom installers. The Remote Network Management (RNM) interface here - https://blog.eero.com/ci_remote_network_management/
Give me a break Eero. Give your customers THE BASIC tool for configuration EVERY OTHER ROUTER HAS, not a mobile app ffs. -
The Owners at eero and Amazon simply just do not care. I loathe this about them. I also loathe that I have to disable HomeKit security for my Thermostat, because eero refuses to play nice with ecobee. To do that I must go to the stupid POS app to do anything with the router. What a bloody pain in the ass! I read a post herein falsely claiming that all other manufacturers will be ditching IP web/desktop interfaces within a few months to do the same as eero because web interfaces are insecure and damage routers. 😜😂😆 seriously I’d like to know what that bloody moron poster was smoking!? Who wants to begin a class action lawsuit??

Got tired of waiting and actually found a way to circumvent both Eero and Apple. Eero app for iOS running on my M1 MacBook Pro. Notice the date is today in the top right corner. Used a decrypted ipa file and a program called sideloadly and presto!

Frontier came in and installed 2 of the Eero units with my fiber install the other day.
As a Net Sec Eng with over 25 years of experience, I was shocked to read this forum post:
1. Only a Phone App????? And they think its so cool to do it this way????? Sounds like a company too lazy to design their device management the correct way considering mobile phones are becoming the primary targets for exploitation. No competent supplier to businesses would ever just rely on just one method of device management even if the one managing the device is a home user.
2. Mobile phone is exploited and cant be used. Now you cant even check if the Eero devices on your network have been modified either. Or even shutdown your work/home network because it is compromised. Sounds like a perfect attack to me.
3. Mobile phone connections are down or you are in a dead zone and little Suzie and Bobby are home and have an issue with the wireless network. Now they can't do their homework or can't play their games. Don't want to be the Dad in that family situation.
This is only 3 of the situations I could think of in the 5 min I gave to this post. I get paid to think of all possible situations where there would be an issue with only one way to manage network devices. I could stay here all day and write many, many more however I don't have that kind of time nor is Eero paying me to do that.
What I do see here is a total disregard for basic everyday Risk Management by Eero of their customers networks and I will be returning these devices with poor device management to Frontier. I will also report my findings to Frontier for review by their own Risk Management team, if they have one. My guess is that they do not as they would not have bought these devices if they did.

I’ve unfollowed this topic.
I’m giving the eeros away.
Going to Ubiquity. -
It's been five (5) years since the original inquiry. Has the idea of a web interface resurfaced? It may not seem important to Eero engineers, but to your customers, at least this one, it really is. If that even matters... 😉
Thanks for your consideration.

Please, this seems like a critical feature to be able to log into your router! People who want basic features have those - please allow more advanced users to have the option!

Wow, just bought these and trying to manage my network and see this. I think I will just return these and get another brand.... I am not managing my home network from a mobile phone.

Hey guys n gals , ive found a work around for eero desktop. install bluestacks app on your PC. to do this you will need to do the following, enable virtual machines in both Windows and your Bios, install Bluestacks official android emulator, then install Play store and finally install eero app! Boom eeero app on your PC!

Millennials don't get desktops/laptops. They don't understand that most working adults are still tied to one for most of the day. EERO develop a desktop app!
-
Buying this system appears to have been a very big mistake....

Some of us old geezers need the desktop app because the phone screen is just too hard to see
-
This is important for accessibility purposes. You may not want o create a desktop app but for some of us, accessibility is a major issue and having a desktop app facilitates that. Really small minded.

Can anyone from eero explain why they are being so adamant and resistant? Clearly there is a passionate desire for having a web based administration interface. Those technical enough among us (I would assume most of the people here) know that it would be insanely easy to implement such access. I'm thinking that creating the mobile app interface was far more complicated than having a straight web based access from one's computer. So why? Why will eero not consider implementing an insanely easy feature that your users passionately have been pleading for? Maybe if you could explain why you refuse to offer what is pretty standard with all of your competitors, it might help us see your the logic of your decision to ignore us.

This is clearly a very old topic, but one I think needs to be addressed with your customers' needs in mind. Recently, I configured my network to use my phone's hotspot as a backup when I lose my wired service. Well, it happened, and I found myself in the quandary of having to disconnect from the LAN to enable the hotspot. This left me with NO method of monitoring/administering the network! Please escalate this and create a desktop/laptop accessible portal!
Thank you, Rollin T.
