Feature Request: support more than one non-guest SSID

With more IoT devices in the home, security is becoming a huge concern with the attacks that are possible.

I'd like to see eero support more than one non guest SSID so I can isolate my IOT devices away from other sensitive devices like laptops and servers.

I could use the guest SSID that's currently available but I want to not have guest devices be able to interact with those devices

One way is to just add another SSID option, in addition to the one that's possible already. However I'd love to see eero adopt Google wifi's approach which seems to be really unique.

Google allows a second SSID (call is SSID2), but all devices on it can be access from SSID1 (but not the other way around). This is crucial to not break scenarios where these IoT devices need you to have access to them but don't want to have hassle of switching wifi networks.

As a service provider, having a hidden SSID only managed from Insight would be useful so the customer doesn't accidentally change the wifi settings and cut the access to the set top box (IPTV) in doing so...  VLAN association would be a nice to have to.

6 years.  Wow.  6 years and still "Under Investigation" with no sign of movement.

What a shame, I feel let down and I just moved to eero!  This was one of the features I expected 'out of the box'  :-o

It has been 6 years since this feature request. This is a total let down. This should have been a feature from the get go.

There is no reason for eero not so support multiple ssid on a meshed network device, with each ssid (network) isolated from the other ssid but not from devices on the same ssid. This feature is supported by most mesh WiFi vendors and puts eero at a competitive and technical disadvantage

I was looking for this same feature - it appears Eero plans to paywall it behind a very expensive business plan which is incredibly disappointing: https://eero.com/business

      Well... there it is.

Wanting multiple non-guest SSIDs will now cost you a big annual fee as part of the Eero for Business subscription.  I understand the reasoning behind this particular features bundle for a business, and an extra $200/year over Eero Plus may be justified by a restaurant or real estate office, but not for us. We don't run a business.  I just want to isolate our home IOT in a separate network.

Presented with much higher opex for Eero, I may as well look elsewhere now.

I'm really missing the time when we owned a home with Cat5 runs to every room, enabling connection of wired Ubiquiti APs.  When we moved to a home without such cabling, I bought Eero Pro APs on faith of eventually receiving advanced residential features which have not been delivered.

      :-(

Same for me. Time to start looking at other options. Sad, really.

If eero wants to ignore consumers looking for multiple SSID in a wireless mesh to segregate home, guest, business, IOT, Home Automation, etc. into separate networks to mitigate risks and organize like use cases they will simply lose market share to other vendors. There are other options in the market, including Google, who provide something as simple as multiple SSID in their mesh. Good to know this in advance as I can avoid eero and inform others of the limitations and assist them in using viable alternatives.

Due to the lack of multiple SSIDs in eero I'm currently using older Google WiFi pucks instead, leveraging OpenDNS as an alternative to web filtering in the additional services provided by eero subscription, etc. When it came time to refresh I was happy to give eero a try, but in the future I'll be moving to eero alternatives and will likely give my eero devices to one of my kids to use until they die.

BTW - The community/forum reach is limited, I would recommend that folks enter a review where they purchased eero letting potential consumers know of the device limitations. This provides a service to the greater community and perhaps will assist eero in providing clarity in providing, or not, multiple SSID in their consumer products. I'm writing my review now.

I just wrote and posted my product review, post purchase, making clear multiple SSID are not supported which is information an informed consumer must have.

trust me after seeing the lack of company responses here I knew it would only get the word out to other users which was my goal. I’m actually an Amazon employee so I just left a message in the Eero slack channel to try and gain more traction on this issue for customers.

Thanks. I spend a LOT of time talking to people and companies about wireless networking of all kinds. I purchased eero as it's one of the few products I had not used, had people interested, so installed a 4 node mesh for daily use to replace a collection of older Google, Orbi, Meraki, TP-link, etc. systems. With a multi-SSID system I could have easily replaced 4 wifi systems, consolidated. Er, nope. Eero is largely relegated to family browsing but can't support the need to have 2 additional SSID for work for multiple people, can't support division of our security devices from our home automation, etc. While I've owned and installed many Google WiFi systems unless eero changes their stand on multiple SSID this system will be my last.
