Ability to give each network a display name

Currently, if you have multiple networks setup, the eero app simply shows them as being identified by their respective SSIDs.

That's not great to start with, as you need to memorize which SSID is associated with a specific location, but it's a particular problem if you have multiple networks with the same SSID (a setup specifically recommended on the eero site, at https://support.eero.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005502226-Can-I-use-the-same-network-name-and-password-for-additional-eero-networks-) as there's no ready way to tell the networks apart in the app.

In that case, the "Switch Network" button gives you no way to tell which network you're selecting, as they're shown with identical names, and you can't even easily tell which network you're looking at in the app's home screen unless you can recognize it by the location labels on the specific eeros.

It would be a major improvement to the multiple network support if you had the option to assign a "display name" to each network, independent of the SSID, that could be used to uniquely identify the network in the app's UI.

  • Yes, please. It is really annoying to switch networks and not be able to tell the difference.
