Feeling stupid - trying to access camera outside of house
So i am new to the EERO family and forwarding/porting or whatever its called.
I feel so stupid but i need help.!
So i am trying to access my Camera (part of my home./my eero router).
i went into port reservation:
NICKNAME: IS THE NAME OF THE DEVICE
IP ADDRESS# 192.168.4.49
then i put port name: camera
port or port range: 56095
TCP & UPD (CHECKED)
then the port forward is also checked
So now its the fun part? my ip address isnt that the WAN IP Address
of REDACTED ?
so lets say i am at eero friend house (we will call him EERODUDE).
i want to try to access my camera at home, but eerodude lives across the world. I know i would have to access my router: https://XXX,.XXX.X.XX the up address when i try it, it says failed... which means i am totally doing it wrong, retarded or just want to learn.
i also turned on client steering / thread.
can someone maybe send me or tell me how/where to access how to do it step by step? I feel weird but i really want to learn..

thunderbunny Thanks for posting! I have edited your post to remove the WAN IP address, as that can be a security concern for your home network. To answer your question, you are mostly correct. When you are remote, which you can test via a smart phone on its cellular network, you input the WAN IP followed by a colon and the port number. For example XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:56095 and see if that gives you access. If it does not, soft reset your eero. If you are still having issues, give us a call and we can investigate further.
