iP address confusion

I have seen posts showing how to change the ip address under the Network Settings. They seem to suggest that the starting ip address range should be from 192.168.1.20. I need 192.168.1.1  How do I do this please?

You would use the eero app, got to Settings->Network Settings->DHCP and NAT

Move the dot to Manual IP and select the prefix 192.168.0.0

Scroll down to the Lease range and change it to the following values:

    Subnet IP 192.168.1.0

    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

    Starting IP: 192.168.1.2

    Ending IP: 192.168.1.254

You cannot set the starting IP to be 192.168.1.1 as the gateway eero, as the DHCP server, will automatically take that position.

You can also make the subnet mask larger if you needed more IPs for devices.

Currently with 255.255.255.0 it will allow for about 254 devices.

If you want around 500 devices, for example you can use subnet mask: 255.255.254.0 and change ending IP to 192.168.2.254

Clicking save will save the settings and make the network reboot.
