Speed cannot go above 500Mbps on new eero6+

At the socket I'm seeing 953 Mbps down and 53 up. However, I'm only 4 metres away from my eero6+ and cannot see speedtest results on my Mac above 500Mbps. Is there any setting I need to enable on the router to allow for faster than 500Mbps wifi?
