eero plus malware test failure
I am becoming increasingly concerned that eero plus is not providing the level of security it proposes to be.
eicar.org provides Anti-Malware test files and while eero plus catches all 4 of the standard protocol http files it FAILS to catch all 4 files with the SSL enabled protocol https. All 4 files downloaded to my machine where Norton Security caught and immediately removed the .com and .txt but the .zip files were not caught by Norton until they were opened.

Maybe I am not understanding how eero plus works but I find it very concerning that any of these files are able to get through eero plus.

Same here. I came across the Fortinet site where they provide 18 tests. I failed on the first 1! EIcar download fail

eero Plus on the network side doesn't scan downloads/files. It's not designed to do that, nor does eero claim that it does. It's only designed to block access to known malicious sites/URLs. You need to install/activate the Malwarebytes software (which a subscription to is included with eero Plus, but it's a 3rd party software) if you want to protect yourself against malware.
Probably the reason it blocked the non-SSL download attempts is because those URLs are in the blacklist--but the SSL ones are not (they come from a sub-domain of eicar.org).

Does eero have a roadmap of some sort with the eero Plus and filtering functionality? Or is there a place to check the history of the automatic updates (some kind of release notes)? I want to stick with them but, as others have concerns, I am seeing their functionality lacking vs competition. At least give me some hope that there is some concern at eero in addressing these, or some kind of acknowledgement that the product is indeed evolving.
