Eero 1st gen va google wifi

I'm planning to purchase a system but new gen is way to expensive. I just found that 1st gen can be purchased for almost the same as a google wifi system. I'm concerned about future proof, ease of use my set up will be using Ethernet into each device since I already have it installed.

I believe that speed wise both will perform similarly

Thanks for your recomendations

  • Well, I haven't used Google Wifi, but eero has a 30 day return policy. Give it a shot!

And if you're worried about future proofing....well, look at Googles history of supporting hardware.

  • Hi  Ferolmos

    Welcome to the eero community!

You don't have to worry about 1st gen eeros being future proof, as we have been and will continue to provide regular firmware updates to them. Also, both 1st and 2nd generation eeros use the same setup process and app, so the ease of use is the same across the board.

Hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
