Ethernet issues

I'm having a problem with my wired devices.  I have Optimum, and am using their provided modem.  Modem connects to erro, eero to 24 port Netgear Switch to feed the wired devices.  WiFi works fine throughout the Eero mesh netork.

Here's the problem.  My wired devices have only intermittent connectivity.  I've swapped out the modem, swapped out the switch, even grabbed a new eero for the gateway.  Most of my wired devices are streaming (Tivo boxes and Apple TV's).

I'm not an IT guy, but I'm baffled by this.  Any suggestions?

  • Could be a bad network cable between the switch and eero.

  • Most likely a cable issue and probably complicated by the fact that you have in-wall or in-ceiling wiring back to the switch I'm guessing? Do you have all your eeros hard wired or just the main eero? can you try running a long ethernet cable directly from the main eero to a tivo box and see if the intermittency goes away?
