Voice Assistant Will Not Turn On

I have connected the eero Android app to my Amazon account and now when I try to enable Voice Assistant it will turn on then turn off right away. I have the skill in my Alexa app and in the Alexa app I can control WiFi there. Is there something I am missing?

Thank you.

    Hello,

I am not aware of any setting within the eero network that would prevent you from activating Voice Assistant. Sometimes settings like this can have issues changing until the device accessing them logs back in. Have you tried restarting the Alexa app?

    Thank you,

    James Wilcox

James Wilcox Hello. I am having the exact same problem as blackneuron is having. I toggle the voice assistant in the eero app and it immediately toggles off. This also happens with the device name-sharing feature as well. Please help, thanks.

A software update was pushed for me last night and I was hoping it would fix this but it didn't.  Please Eero, provide and update on this. Thanks.

I wish i had seen this before buying. I'm having the same issue and cannot use my Zigbee hub because of it. On with tech support now and they're stumped. My favorite thing was asking me to restart all of my 9 or 10 alexa enabled devices at once.

MattATX  Yeah it does suck that both features are busted. I cannot believe they asked you to restart all your devices at once. That makes zero sense; the number of devices has nothing to do with the eero's functionality. These two features obviously worked at one point, they need to go back to when it worked. I personally don't really care about the voice support but definitely want the device name sharing.

mtweisenbarger  they're now telling me it's with the alexa app. even though it's clearly with their app. I'm now on a three way call with tech support for alexa and eero

now the best part is trying to get the amazon person to understand that Eero isn't a third party device, but is amazon

I think I am just going to switch to Google Home/Nest stuff. I read the reviews on those and it looks like they do not have this problem.

blackneuron do they have zigbee built in?

blackneuron they may not but I hear they are dissapointing with their speeds and multi device handling. Go with Netgear. More expensive but handles best. I would have gone that route but wanted to try Eero first.
