Allow to manually move device from one eero to another

I’d like to be able to manually move a device from one eero to another (attach to another eero) if they have better signal from another or one is more congested than another. Perhaps eventually they can be automatically balanced but that often not the case now.

  • I've seen some odd issues where devices in the same cabinet as an Eero use an Eero in my garage. Rather than add a feature to manually move the device, how about they fix the load balancing and improve their monitoring so we know why these devices are where they are? Maybe show load balancing metrics for each Eero?

russw I agree. That’s ideal. I noticed that there’s a significant lag and load balancing needed. If they can fix the lag, eg I’m moving around the house with my laptop or phone, they should detect the movement faster. Then look at the load balancing algorithm based on signal strength. This should be easy to implement, I would think...

    • russw I have seen the exact same thing. eero any comment on adding this functionality? For folks that work from home or just have multiple devices, this would be needed and desired.

  • Me too interested: automatic load balancing don’t work fine! So it could be useful to move manually client to the right AP EERO

  • Sometimes what eero a device connects to makes no sense. One room over is one eero, four rooms is another. Of course, the device connects to the one four rooms over (and on 2.4 rather than 5 or 6). Moving the device to the closer eero should be easy-but instead I have to reset the network and scramble everything.

    It's been over a year...any movement?
