1Eero extender with ethernet port
I have just upgraded to full fibre to the premises with Talktalk, who have provided an Eero 6 router. However, the windows pc provided by work with a wifi dongle is unreliable in its connection, whereas all of our home devices have no issues with connection. I have tried running an ethernet cable between the Eero 6 router and the work pc and the connection is then fine. However, I cannot have a cable trailing between two rooms and across the hallway on a permanent basis. Is there a way of setting up a second Eero in my study near to my work pc, which I can connect with an ethernet cable to the pc? If so, will it be easy to set up for someone who has little knowledge of these things? I have seen that there is an Eero 6 extender, but it doesn't have an ethernet port. any proper eero router can also double as an eero extender. you could get the eero 6, 6+, pro 6, or pro 6e, and add it to your network. (open the app, goto the home tab, press the plus icon in the top-right, and select "add or replace eero devices"

christ110 Thank you very much for your helpful response. Will I then be able to plug my work pc into that second router via an ethernet cable (even though that second router will not be hardwired to the fibre cable coming into the premises)? I hope that makes sense!

Alison yes, the second router will basically act like a large, fancy, external wifi adapter for you. You can use it as an Ethernet 'source'

The eero 6 extender and the eero Beacon do not have Ethernet ports and can only be added to an existing eero network.
