Bluetooth capabilities of eero
I remember reading when prelaunch orders were being solicited that Eero would blanket homes with both WiFi and bluetooth through all the routers in the network. But since launch we have not seen any of the Bluetooth blanketing capabilities. It would be awesome if the Bluetooth hardware can be employed to create a network of bluetooth hubs that could potentially hook up multiple (generic) bluetooth speakers across the home to create a whole home music system (even if it is just one speaker per eero router). Is this something you guys are working on? If not what was the reference to "blanket home with bluetooth" meant to be used for? Please do share.
This is something that would add more value to Eero considering there are many more offerings in the whole 'Home WiFi mesh network" space now and quite a few at a much lower price point. I love how well Eero has worked out for me but there are moments when I have boderline buyers remorse considering the newer options include much lower priced individual units allowing more units to be placed across home for much better speeds. Also is there any way to test individual connection speeds within the local network? Can you also share any new features you plan to bring to Eero down the road?

Hi wrxster —
Thanks for your question and welcome to the eero community!
Currently, bluetooth is solely used during the eero setup process. Adding more functionality via bluetooth is something we're still very interested in, and we are always exploring new ways to expand connectivity in the home.
With regards to:

More units don't necessary mean better speeds—each eero has the power to cover around 1,000 square feet. If you are not seeing the speeds you should be, please feel free to contact our support team. We'd be happy to take a look and provide any suggestions for placement.
As for speed tests over the local network, if those devices have an interface where you can run a speed test, you can find those speeds. For devices that don't, see this feature request.
And with that regard, we don't have any feature updates to share at this time. As soon as we do, they will be shared via our blog and social channels.

Jeff C. Could you elaborate on what you meant by "As for speed tests over the local network, if those devices have an interface where you can run a speed test, you can find those speeds."

Hi wrxster 👋
I was referring to devices such as computers, phones, and even some game systems where you can run a speed test for those devices to the eero they are connected to.
I'm happy to pass along your feedback for those speeds to be reported in app.
