I’m another person that has just sunk big money into Eero.  I too request this feature and am terribly disappointed that Eero has essentially ignored a huge segment of its users for so long.  I scrolled through this entire thread and the fact that Eero hasn’t responded with the capability evinces a choice on their part.  That choice is not in its user’s best interest and I sympathize with the frustration.

I too would like this feature.  I feel like an idiot to have bought into eero without realizing it was not there. I will use a pass thru but will continue to evaluate other mesh systems and plan to move to one that supports it. eero needs to step to the plate and provide this support.

+1 for VPN support. Bought the eero a month ago and I absolutely love it. However, I would love to be able to use a VPN service with the router. Especially because I can see a world where you can simply activate it and deactivate it through the wonderful eero app.

For me it's a double whammy because I live in Spain and we still do not get eero plus. (solve that as well, by the way!)

ExpressVPN user here and I would love this.

At the very least, the feature could be initially released with OpenVPN support. I don't know about other VPN services, but ExpressVPN provides both their APP, as well as a simple OpenVPN configuration for applications where installing their app isn't an option.

It is incredibly disappointing to learn that this capability is not offered (my five-year old Netgear had this feature) and that the request for its addition has been basically ignored for three years. We finally bit the bullet and subscribed to a VPN and now we are looking to upgrade our router. We purchased an Eero Pro three pack today, but I am actually glad now it is going to take so long to arrive. Because I came across this, I will be cancelling my order and looking for a different solution. I understand mesh networks are targeted at people who just want something simple and easy to use, but a mesh network offers features advanced users would like as well. This is a deal killer though. Considering the nearly complete erosion of privacy that now exists, not supporting native VPN is unacceptable. You can offer simplicity and advanced in the same package. To a certain extent, routers have been doing this for years. You cannot brand a device PRO then not offer pro features.

This needs to be a standard feature. IMO

Please consider adding this feature as a free option. Also quit charging for advanced features, I'm about ready to change Mesh Networks.

It would be nice if you could set which devices you want to use the VPN and to be able to support multiple vpns. The Asus Merlin open source has some great features. You should look at that implementations for ideas.

I’ve only had the Eero Mesh since July 2019,,but not being able to utilize NordVPN is frustrating.  I like to have a VPN between my AppleTV 4K and ISP.

Mark I am in the same boat.  I am probably going to put a raspberry pi in between my AppleTV and the network so I can set up a VPN with that.

Just got an eero pro today, kicking myself I didn't do my homework better. No support for VPN service or DDNS, anyone want to buy a barely used Eero Pro?

padraig Just return it.   I have heard some good things about the Ubiquiti.   I suspect it has VPN capability since it is more of a business type router/wifi.  -  Although, I don’t believe it has a lot of the nice consumer/parental control features that the Eero has.

Just opened the new eero pro today and like others, deeply disappointed that I can't protect my devices using my ExpressVPN and Nord accounts.  Luckily, Best Buy does have a 30 day return policy.  While I love the simplicity of the eero system, working from home, streaming, automated home devices, etc. and NO native VPN coverage from my router makes me feel vulnerable. So....hello eero community, and a likely farewell at the same time.  I'll keep checking this forum to see when this functionality is added because I really do like the product.

Same.  Made an account just to support this thread.  I have already purchased the pre order for the eero 6.  If there is no positive update before the device ships in November I will cancel my order.

I have enjoyed my Eero at home for over a year now, but saddened to see that I cannot use my NordVPN service at the router level. I’ll be looking for a new mesh network that allows such a feature in the case Eero has no plan to implement it in the near future. Between business data, personal data and the occasional DDoS attack I receive from playing multiplayer games (looking at you Xbox/Microsoft for allowing IP capture from party system) a VPN is absolutely critical for my families data protection. Eero, please take these requests and comments seriously. You will not receive a subscription from me if you can’t offer a feature found standard in much more inexpensive routers/systems. Thanks for the considerations.

I give up on waiting for VPN functionality. I guess it's time to try a different product. I loved my Eero's, but really need VPN. I shouldn't have to pay an annual premium for routers that cost me over $500.  I guess I'll list my routers on eBay. If anyone needs routers, send me a PM. I have 5 Eero Pros 2nd generation in excellent condition...

Did the same. Created an account to add a +1

Why on earth won't you put this feature in?

I can only imagine that you're worried it might a) slow down people's networks or b) are being lobbied by companies who want our data.

james948 eero is already owned by Amazon.  Bezos already owns most of our data.  ;-)

I will add to the thread, although Eero has stopped replying.  It is clear they are not adding it.

I have a Verizon provided router and Eero in Bridge mode. Can anyone provide links to tutorials on how to replace the Verizon router with a router that can host a system-wide VPN?

I keep reading people have invested a lot in Eero products, and Eero doesn’t have the capability to run native VPN? We have 7-8 Eero routers on one property. Obviously like the product but if you can’t allow the simplest of VPN on the router side, it’s a shit product, and we can trash and buy another competitor brand. Looking for this to be updated in next firmware update.
