Speed Test Notifications

eero does a speed test every night and logs the history. It would be great if we would receive a notification if the current speed test was >x% off from the previous night (see my pic for an example of when i would want to be notified).



Notice how my download throughput dropped from > 600Mbit to ~44Mbit between 11 Nov and 12 Nov. I wish I could have been altered by eero that things were a bit off. It would have saved me a month of frustration. I only happened to look at the speed test when i was going to the eero app to change a setting (for troubleshooting video calls) and that started me looking for a reason, which i found here: https://forums.att.com/t5/AT-T-Fiber-Equipment/PACE-11-1-0-531418-DMZ-Issue/td-p/5700776.

I have AT&T Fiber and they pushed out a firmware update in November to one of their router models that absolutely broke everything that I and others on the above link do on a daily basis. Throughput sucked, Wi-Fi calling broke, large file downloads kept failing (OS updates), a VPN problem, among other things. Hoping eero can help us out by notifying us if our internet connection is wonky - even adding it as an eero plus feature would be ok.

    We definitely appreciate your suggestion here about having an app alert for major performance changes in the automated speed test, it sounds like a great idea. While I'm not able to speculate on when we may implement this feature specifically, I'd like to assure you that we're constantly exploring new ways to implement notifications into the eero app in a useful and impactful way. As an example, we've just introduced notifications to alert network owners when new devices join the network.
