iMac won’t connect via Ethernet switch after installing Eero

I changed from a wireless router to Eero and like the results so far but when I tried to connect my iMac via an Ethernet switch it will not work. A windows desktop connected with no issues. I ran the Mac OS assistant and the message was it could not help me with this issue. Any ideas?

  • Hi  Maxbargains

Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear the issue you are experiencing. Is the Windows desktop also connected to the same switch? Is the switch connected directly to your eero?

    • Jeff C. yes to both. I called my IT guy who is also a client. He says it is looking for a static IP address that he can fix hands on in a jiffy. I will be scheduling him to look at it soon.

  • Had Google Wifi prior to my 3 Eeros, installed just a few days ago. Had to reboot the iMac because it kept the old ip (192.168.86.x) even when connected to the new Eero. Rebooting iMac did the trick.
