Need specific help (not an article written by ATT) to set up IP Passthrough from my ATT router. The articles DO NOT HELP

Hello all.

Need specific help (not an article written by ATT) to set up IP Passthrough from my ATT router. The articles DO NOT HELP and Eero supper KEEPS sending me the SAME unhelpful article. Their phone support has mega-long wait times so I thought I’d try here :)

Specifically, what do I fill in to configure IP Passthrough?

Allocation mode should be X?

Passthrough mode should be Y?

passthrough fixed MAC address should be Z?

passthrough dhcp lease should be Q?

Any help would be appreciated. Thx!

  • What article are they sending you?

  • Based on reading that AT&T document, you should just need to set the allocation mode to “Passthrough” and the passthrough mode to “DHCPS - Dynamic”. After saving and rebooting the modem, you should be good to go.

cMoo92 it needs a MAC address of something as well. Also, why not DHCPS-Fixed?

    • JustJoe based on my understanding of that document, using DHCP-Dynamic should mean you don’t need to bother with putting in a MAC address. The dynamic part means the first device connected to the AT&T modem/router will get assigned as the passthrough device. Since the eero unit should be the only device connected, it should be selected as the passthrough device
