Wired printer connection

I've connected an older brother printer to the network via ethernet and cannot see/print to it from any of my computers.  I am able to contact the printer from a browser via its local address, but I cannot print to it.  I have been printing to it in the recent past (last week), but since I've had a tech rep reset the system, I've not been able to print.  Any troubleshooting or recommendations are appreciated.

  • Hello Dewey ,

Download the drivers for the printer onto your computer and install them. Once you have that installed it should be able to locate your printer again. If you need assistance with this you will want to reach out to Brother support or you can contact the tech rep that reset your systems.

  • Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the back of the printer, then connect the other end of the cable to a correctly configured network port, switch or router port.

A wired network printer uses an Ethernet cable instead of a USB connection, and it connects directly to a router instead of an individual computer. DGCustomerFirst
