eero mesh DHCP issue

I have a friend who installed an eero mesh system. When he connects to it with his iPhone he gets the correct 192.165 DHCP Address, netmask settings and DHCP server. However, when he tries to connect wirelessly with his iMac he connects to a 22.39 network and has no Internet connection. I had to manually enter the DHCP server information into the TCP/IP settings on his iMac in order to get it to connect. He's up and running right now, but I could not find anything in the documentation that explains why this is happening. Anyone has any knowledge or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.
