Laptop Does Not See EERO Network

I set up new Eeros 6 WiFi. Went fine. I connected my many many smart switches and things without issue. The only problem is my work laptop. It does not see the new Eeros SSID. Anyone run across this?

  • If you have WPA3 and/or band steering turned on, try turning those options off.

  • It’s my work laptop and it’s locked down. Without admin rights I can’t change much. Thanks for the reply.

  • Both settings are off already. I spent 1.5 hours online with work tech support and they couldn’t figure it out and referred my ticket to tier 3. Seems like it shouldn’t be this complicated. Thanks for the advice.

  • Hello,

Some devices might have problems identifying networks that are setup with wifi 6. One way to try and resolve the behavior is to verify that your wifi network card in your computer is on the latest driver and supports connecting to AX wifi networks. If you are still experiencing this behavior after updating your network and verifying that your network card can view wifi 6 networks, you can either respond here for reach out to eero support using the link below to determine the best method of contact for you.

James Wilcox it appears my WIFI adapter may not be current. I am using a work HP Thin Client MT43. It’s locked down by my job and I cannot get admin rights to update it. My PC support is basically telling me to use a different router and they won’t touch it. Is there anything else I can try to make my laptop see my new WiFi network?

      Thanks for any suggestions.

Kush wow this is an old one. My work IT updated the WiFi adapter drivers and it immediately worked. You just need updated WiFi adapter most likely.
