Bridged mode’s missing features

I have to run my eeros in bridged mode because my internet is PPPoE. Auto mode had too many issues of the internet cutting out. While in bridged mode I don’t have any parental controls. It would be nice to see an update that parental controls can be used in bridged mode. Is there a reason they can’t?

  • The reason eero can't do any type of parental control in bridge mode is because in bridge mode, it means it's essentially just passing the traffic around. It's no longer managing the traffic since there is a non-eero router handling, you guessed it, the routing.

cMoo92 is this something that can be changed?  Also, do I still have the security measures...password protection?

    • Hello OkiAllen ,

It is not something that can be changed. When you place the eero into bridge mode you effectively turn off the router. Once the router is turned off it cannot use it's security measures for data going in or out of the network. All the security on your network would be handled by the upstream router. So you are still protected, it will just be your upstream router with it's firewall.
