Eero Pro (gen2) won't connect to Ethernet

I've been noticing some strange behaviors with one of my Eero Pro (gen 2) routers. My network is pretty simple with an Eero 6 Pro as the gateway and (4) Eero Pro (gen 2) routers connected via Ethernet.

Fiber router <> Eero Pro 6 (gateway) <> switch <> (4) Eero Pro (gen2) routers

One of those Eero Pro (gen2) routers gets taken out of the network and put back in. When I re-added it, it would not connect via Ethernet. It also acts odd connecting via the mesh even though it within 10' from another Eero router.

I've tried different ports on the switch and other devices work fine on those ports. The Eero displays a bit odd in the app (iOS) too (see first pic). There is no network or wifi connection icon like the other routers. When you tap the arrow to get the router details, it is not connecting devices (see second pic).

I have tried many of the troubleshooting recommendations in other posts:

- Removing, re-adding back to network

- Hard reset

- Unplug, wait >1hr and reconnect

- Reset to factory settings

- Try different ports and different cables

I have tried all of these multiple times with no change in results. Suggestions?

  • I have been experiencing something similar. It starts with an error in the app to "Check Eeros," as if two of my three eeros suddnely lost their ethernet connections to the rest of the network. They'll then show their status lights to be red temporarily. If I just keep waiting, they eventually seem to reset themselves. However,  during this process, I will experience my network grinding to a halt, and then my browser thinks I don't have an internet connection, but my cable modem never shows any indication of an issue.

  • Since I upgraded to the latest release of software that just came out, the problem seems to have corrected itself. I no longer have the problem.
