iPhone - Unknown Manufacturer

When I updated my iPhone to iOS14, eero failed to recognize the Device Type and put it under "Other". Also, eero cannot recognize the manufacturer as it shows as "Unknown". So I thought a device I do not know about joined my network. This was working fine prior to updating to iOS14. Same thing happened to my wife's and son's iPhones. Is there an issue between eero and iOS14?

  • This is because with iOS 14, Apple improved the privacy of iOS devices by each device changing its MAC address for each WiFi network it connects to (so that places like retailers and whatnot can’t track you by your MAC address). On each device, you can go into Settings > WiFi > and tap the “i” icon for your eero network name and turn off the “Private Address” option which will disable the feature for just that specific network.
