Super minor request for the iOS app.

I truly enjoy the icons that are shown for each of my devices under the "top devices by usage" area within the iOS app. I was even surprised when I saw a gaming controller for my Xbox One S, nice touch!

But when you look at entire connected devices list, I wish it also had the same icons next to each device. This may not fit UI wise on a standard device, but on a Plus device it would seem like we have plenty of real estate for the icons. The benefit is when you do have a lot of devices you can scroll quickly to see them.

Super minor, but I thought it couldn't hurt to ask. 😇

    Hi  Uplink —

Thanks for the feedback. I'll be happy to share this with the team and update the thread if it is something we look to do!

There is not much room in ios app development version and if the icons in the list would be shown separately then it would be difficult to maintain the overall UI of the app. In my opinion this is not minor. Some major changes in UI mush be done if they work on your idea.

erik .  Are you kidding me?  There is plenty of room in each table row as they have plenty of whitespace above and below the two fields in each table row.  A small version of the icon can be shown very easily.  In fact if they do that, they can then also offer sorting and then refresh the entire tableview and change the section headers to reflect the sorting.  All of this is very easy, if they have the data you see in that tableview in an NSDictionary.

What would be awesome from a UI perspective, is to add the number devices found in that section in the actual section header title.  So it would appear as "Current on your network:  45 out of 120 devices".  Again, very easy as they can count the items in the NSDictionary as part of the sort.

Also, no need to give us URLs for 3rd party app developers.  I'm sure eero has iOS developers that are very proficient in Swift 4.02 and now Swift 4.1...  because using any other language or platform to develop iOS apps is just wrong and shows a lack of proper development skills for an Apple ecosystem (iOS, watchOS, tvOS, macOS, and now audioOS [for the HomePod]).

+1 to this one, thanks for bringing it up Uplink . The icons allow to spot devices very fast, and that's probably why more and more services include them (competition apps, smart TVs in their inputs lists, etc). In the general view they really make a difference, and I don't see why they haven't been considered for the larger list. I believe they should :)

+1 from me also.  This is a great feature, one which I would especially love to see everywhere and even be able to pick and choose an icon if the pre-selected icon is not to my liking.  This is how Fing works and it’s one of the best features.
