Separate SSIDs for 2.4 and 5.0 band
I work for an integration company and have installed eeros in at least 15 houses, but it seems I have to pull at least half of them. Savant Pro handheld remotes require a stand alone 2.4 SSID. When the SSID is a 2.4 and 5.0 mixed band, the remotes fall offline regularly. Since most of my clients are Savant users, they cannot be eero users until this feature is added.

So I have this issue with gen 1 wemo devices.
These had been working for a month or so, but something has happened either on wemo or Eero firmware that when both 5g and 2.4ghz networks are up, the wemo devices fall off the network.
Troubleshooting and turning off works until the 5ghz comes back online.
Y'all should test with wemo devices.

Please consider allowing a way to set a device to communicate at 5GHz band.
example: my Logitech circle view door bell is right next to my office but it only connects at 2.4GHz where previous router would allow me to set that MACID to connect 5GHz band.
doorbell video very choppy due to congested 2GHz network where all my other security camera would connect at 5GHz with much better response and video quality.

I would love the option of splitting the 2.4 and 5ghz bandwidth. I like having these bandwidths divided so I can split up the heavier data usage devices. I WFH and wanting a solution where I can dedicate bandwidth for my work devices.

I also, might have to shut down and return my Eero mesh network. This impacts my VPN for work.
I work on a separate VPN for our lab, and what happens, is when the connection automatically drops down to 2.4 band, it disconnects me, and then it prevents me from being connected to the VPN again. Each time this happens automatically, I have to wait some time before I can connect again. This is a major failure, and impacts the ability to work quickly when working from home.
Unfortunately, the only way to solve this problem is by having different SIDS for the bands.

I’d like to be able to restrict a client from joining the 5ghz at all. The client is connecting to 5 but then doesn't work properly. So if I could make it so eero could encourage the device to connect to 2.4 instead that would be great. Like mode steering but for bands

I was able to connect my eWeLink Sonoff Mini R1 WiFi switches with the steps below (as background, I had to use another router to create a 2.4 only wifi network for the switches):
1- delete the Sonoff switch from the eWeLink app, which resets it.
2-put the Sonoff switch in compatibility mode (hold button for 5sec, which puts it in quick pairing, then hold for another 5sec, which puts it in compatibility mode - blinks fast)
3-in the Eero app, go Settings -> Troubleshooting -> My device won´t connect -> Temporarily pause 5GHz and use Legacy Mode for WiFi 6 (this last one I dont know if it is absolutely necessary)
4-add the Sonoff switch again, but select Compatibily Mode (bottom of the Add Device screen). Sometimes it takes a few tries but eventually it works.
5-with my old Android device I couldnt do it, had to use an Apple iPhone to make it work.
6-once the Sonoff switch is added, you can activate 5GHz WiFi again in the Eero app.
So now I dont need this second router, and also dont need the WiFi extenders (live in a two story apartment so my router wasnt reaching all the 7 Sonoff switches I have).

If the software housed in the EERO pro can automatically switch from 2.4 to 5 GHz automatically ; then a software patch could be developed so that when upgraded, the unit can be set to stay on 2.4 until selected differently. The Guest Network is a great application for this fix : to allow certain 2.4 GHz only devices to be able to continuously stay connected. Some very reliable devices use this frequency flawlessly and their life expectancy is slated for many many more years of service -before becoming obsolete. Come on engineers and designers- give us a break: its not hard to do (need an outside contractor to help you with this? Contact me -)

Like a lot of people - I'm finding that 2.4ghz smart devices are struggling to stay on the network. My smart switches are pretty useless if half the time I try to trigger them, they are in the middle of reconnecting. Don't worry about the experience I would have for splitting the bands on a different SSID - that's on me. How about just allow the 'guest' SSID to have an option to be 2.4ghz only, or something like that? There is such thing as overcorrecting and making a product too simple. These are very standard features on any other router.

My adjustable bed loses connection constantly then starts beeping in the middle of the night waking me up, all of this because I can't have a permanent 2.4ghz ssid despite spending $1500 for a full house 4 routers eero pro 6e... very disappointing. All other routers have this feature. I should have bought a different brand.

I have found that by changing the settings on the PC's Network Adapter, I can make my PC stay on 5Ghz or move to 6 GHz, or even wind up on the slower 2 GHz band. I was looking at buying Eero but have been dissapointed to read that the system does not support separate SSIDs for 2.4 and 5Ghz. This is a must have feature for me so I will have to look else where.

It is so sad that something many other companies, like ASUS, to mention one, have this for a very long time. Why does something like my Ring Alarm Pro base station, which is only one device, doesn't have it if the excuse is the MESH? I will not mention many other features EERO is missing. Again, it is a big disappointment that something basic is not included.

Still needed. Schlage locks require a dedicated 2.4GHz ssid. These are the most popular home entry product for Airbnb owners. Im going to have to tear down the eero since I lost conmection to all my doors.

Well, here is the deal, they think everybody is complaining because they can´t connect 2,4ghz products, and they gave the option of turning off the 5ghz for 10 minutes, but the problem is not that simple, that is an amazon product and should be able to integrate with the other amazon products out there, me for example, I have two echoes 4th gen connected to a fire tv sitck 4k max as a home theatre, and in other hand I have two echo studios and echo sub connected to a fire cube 3rd gen as a home theatre, with my old router I didn´t have any issues with the set up, the issue was streamming in the room sometimes paused because signal was poor, so I bought one of the eero, one was enough for my little house, everything was quick and easy for the set up, and signal was great all around the house, the problem comes with the home theatre, the echos work with 2,4 and 5 both so the fire stick and fire cube, but most of the time the fire cube and fire tv stayed at the 5ghz band and the echoes stayed with the 2,4ghz and simply doesn´t work, there was no way of making them work, impossible, I didnt now what the problem was until I found out in the app they were connected to different ssid, it is incredible you cannot choose which band you want them to work so it does not happen, being an amazon product that´s a shame, how come? how come you can´t have a home theatre amazon alexa work with their wifi router?

I got the ASUS zen mesh yesterday set up 3 channels and so far nothings cutting out! Fingers crossed
