Problem with Denon AVR (Home Theater Receiver)

My Denon 3312CI was working fine with ethernet connection to my old (cisco) router.
When I upgraded to eero, it will not recognize the network.

There is a menu where I can manually enter IP addresses such as "default gateway"

I can't get it to connect.

Any suggestions?

  • Is it hardwired to your eero now, or are you trying to connect it via WiFi?

Did you have the IP address manually entered before? You should just be able to set your receiver to DHCP (some manufacturers will just call it something like “dynamic IP”) and it should pick up an IP address. Power cycling your receiver would also likely be needed if you haven’t tried that yet.

  • Yes, hardwired.  The Control4 unit and the Blu-ray player switched over no problem.  The Denon had DHCP turned off and I tried several different IPs.  After your reply I turned DHCP on and holy smokes it shows up now on the Eero app.  Thanks a million!

  • Darn, the control4  and the receiver are both on the eero network, but the control4 is not switching over the sources or powering on and off the receiver. Well, at least everything is functional at this point.

    • notatechie glad that my suggestion at least partially fixed your issue! I’m not familiar with Control4 specifically, but I have experience with some AV control products. My suspicion is that it was programmed to communicate with the old IP address of your Denon receiver. If that’s the case, you’re going to probably need to have a technician come out and reprogram the Control4 system.
