UpgradeD to Eero Pro 6, now have slower speeds :(

Hi, after upgrading from Eero Pro to the Eero pro 6, I’m seeing much slower speeds from the second unit.

The gateway reaches speeds of approx 500down/500up (I have 1gig down/1 gig up service), but the WiFi connected second station is seeing about 50% of what I experienced before.

We’re now seeing degraded speeds of 100down/50 up. This station is line of site, approx 25 feet from the gateway.

Any tips on how to resolve? One more note, I updated the system to version 6.4.

    Hello Pbskehans ,

Thank you for reaching out to us and welcome to the Community! It can be quite frustrating when your devices are not working as desired. Lets see what we can do to narrow down the cause. When ever troubleshooting speed issues on a mesh network there are a few things to check.

    1) Verify that any ethernet cords you are using to connect your eeros are at least Cat 5e. The ethernet that came with the eeros is Cat 5e.

    2) Verify that your eeros are placed correctly. We normally recommend that eeros are placed between 35-45 ft from any other eero. When they are too close they can cause congestion on the WiFi and it will slow everything down as it has to wait in line to be processed, sometimes these requests can even be dropped causing the device to lose connection or appear to not have access to the internet.

    3) Also, take a quick read through our placement article to make sure there is nothing else where the eeros are placed that could be interfering with the signal. https://support.eero.com/hc/en-us/articles/207897393-Where-should-I-place-my-eeros-#:~:text=For%20a%20quick%20and%20easy,eeros%20out%20around%20your%20home.

James thanks for the advice. Creating more distance between stations seems to have done the trick.
