forward of Protocol 41 (6in4)
Various routers (NOT Eero) such as NetGear and ActionTec support forwarding Protocol 41 packets to allow tunneling IPv6 over IPv4 networks (for example to tunnelbroker.net).
This useful when with ISPs such as Ziply Fiber, which deliver protocol 41 to the Router/NAT but natively do NOT directly support IPv6.
I used this function on Ziply with an ancient 100 Mb/second router. However, now I have 1 GB/second service and use an Eero as the gateway.
NOTE: I don't need Eero to process the packet; I can do the unwrapping on a system inside the firewall.
Or do I need to throw out my Eero router to get protocol 41 forwarding?
