Enhancing Alexa Integration: Elevating Eero Network Notifications and Routines

In the Alexa application, there should be more “Triggers” to create specific routines and provide targeted notifications regarding the eero network or the overall operation of eero routers.

These notifications or voice commands could include the following examples:

  • Announce through Alexa's voice that the "Guest Network" has been enabled.
  • Announce through Alexa's voice that the "Guest Network" has been disabled.
  • Announce recently completed updates via Alexa's voice.
  • Announce new users connected to the network via Alexa's voice.
  • Announce through Alexa's voice when all eeros or the entire network have achieved the "Online" status.
  • Announce via Alexa's voice when the network is disconnected or, more specifically, when a particular eero router is disconnected.
  • Announce the discovery of new firmware via Alexa's voice.
  • Provide a 12-hour advance reminder through Alexa's voice before the network initiates an update. (This is a new feature currently available in eero app version 6.29.0.36584, but it does not include Alexa).
  • Provide a 15-minute advance reminder through Alexa's voice before the network initiates an update. (This is a new feature currently available in eero app version 6.29.0.36584, but it does not include Alexa).
  • Alexa Voice Command: Restart the entire network (restricted by specific user voices through the Alexa app). While this is a voice command, I would prefer it to be implemented as a "Trigger"within the Alexa application rather than a native command.
  • Alexa Voice Command: Restart a specific eero router (restricted by specific user voices through the Alexa app). While this is a voice command, I would prefer it to be implemented as a "Trigger"within the Alexa application rather than a native command.
  • Alexa Voice Command: Enable or disable "Sleep Mode" or simply turn off the status lights of all eeros (in case you prefer to turn them off during the night and turn them on during the day). While this is a voice command, I would prefer it to be implemented as a "Trigger" within the Alexa application rather than a native command.
  • Please, when you introduce new features related to Alexa, THOROUGHLY TEST AND VERIFY that the same voice commands in SPANISH function just as flawlessly as in English. It is not the first time that these commands in SPANISH have not worked properly. It is indeed disappointing!

I find it essential to emphasize that the integration of Alexa with these routers should be further leveraged, considering that there are many notifications that would be more convenient to receive directly through an Alexa device (Echo Show, Echo Dot, etc.) rather than observing them within a simple eero app, where they may often go entirely unnoticed. If these routers were designed to function with Alexa, then fully embrace this technological resource and make your routers something truly exceptional.

Moreover, I must emphasize and make it very clear that when discussing the ability to create Alexa Routines, you will understand that generating a notification is entirely optional and not obligatory. With the included "Triggers" in the Alexa app, you have the flexibility to create the desired notifications and voice commands or simply disregard them altogether, meaning that Alexa will not issue any notifications on any device or action with the eeros. Therefore, this would not interfere with your preferences, such as your taste in music or other relevant content.

Therefore, having stated the above, you will solely select the appropriate and specific notifications and voice commands from that list of "Triggers" within the Alexa application to create the routines according to your preference.
