eero Plus Security Reporting

Add the ability for eero Plus customers to retrieve detailed reports about the information that is provided in the weekly overview email. For example, it is nice to know that malware was blocked from communicating outbound on the network but having the details about exactly which client system was attempting the communication would actually allow investigation of that system to see if it has been infected with something that needs to be cleaned. With the overview there is no way to obtain that detailed information.

This is a great idea. I haven't subscribed to Plus (yet!), but assumed that there would be some way to view this information, specifically, and outside of the weekly email that was mentioned. It would definitely be beneficial to see more detailed information about what was blocked, especially from the inside, so that we can make sure to resolve any issues.

I have a TON of IoT devices, and would be really interested to know if one was infected and making nefarious outbound connections.

I agree with this 100 percent. This would be super beneficial in terms of actionable information that would help us be more secure. It’s unreasonable to think eero plus will catch 100 percent of things, but to get an idea if one device might be infected would allow us to root the problem out at the source.

My weekly eero Plus reports seem to be coming every other week lately.  Any one else seeing this?

I literally just emailed support asking for this!

A more detailed report is required.  I had used a Cujo security device with my Netgear Nighthawk router for a year before switching to eero.  During that time I received maybe 1-2 threat alerts per week with a detailed report (in real time) on the alert and device affected. Since I switched over to eero with eero plus, the weekly summary is lacking in details.  My weekly summary break down is as follows:

Week 09/01: 2 threats, both spyware

    Week 09/07: 10 threats, 3 malware, 7 spyware

    Week 09/15: 7 threats, 3 malware, 4 spyware

    Week 09/22: 110 threats, 19 malware, 91 spyware

    Week 09/29: 60 threats, 12 malware, 38 Spyware

    Week 10/06; 36 threats, 0 malware, 36 spyware

    Week 10/13: no report

    Week 10/20; 13 threats, 0 malware, 13 spyware

    Week 10/27: no report

I have not changed my system nor added any devices, but I have seen a major jump in threats since eero plus was added.  The only change was from my Nighthawk/Cujo setup to eero with eero plus. It would be extremely helpful to know what sites caused the alert and what device was triggered it.  I honestly do not know if Cujo was insensitive or if eero plus is over sensitive, but I am concerned with these numbers.

I agree with several of the previous posts that eero plus numbers may be randomly generated.  Without a detailed report there is no way of knowing that the service we are paying $9.99/ month is actually in effect.  And not to receive even the sparse weekly report leads me to believe that eero plus is vapor ware.

applejax I had CUJO and it reported the bad IPs, but I could never know what they were given that they were blocked. Thus, Eero Plus is report as much given that Cujo can’t tell you where a site IP is from.  My two cents :)

Still no change in my setup, but all of a sudden no threats from a high of 110!

Got my first trial report today and thought "who tried to go to a bad place, and what WAS the bad place"!

If you scan through the discussions, there has been plenty of requests for a more detailed EERO Plus report, but not one response from eero. I have contacted support directly about the wild fluctuations in my report and how to find out what is going on, but to date no real response.

The heart of eero plus is the security aspect, but instead of improving upon the security report, they are adding more "features". I would rather see eero give me a more detailed report as to what triggered the alert on what device.  If not in real time, at least in the weekly summary.

I’m subscribed to Eero Plus, and I haven’t seen any of those reports yet. How do you get them?

Again,I haven't received my report for last week.  This makes the 4th week that I haven't received even the marginal weekly report for eero Plus. It seems that I now get a report every other week.  eero is a great system, but eero plus is a major disappointment.

Still no comments from eero staff!

I am on the waiting list for RatTrap's upgraded speed version due out next year.  Their current version is excellent, works well with eero, but has a speed capped at 200.

Jeff C. I’m not receiving those reports either. And there was no mention of them when I signed up for Eero Plus.

Jeff C. Hi Jeff,  I have reported my lack of reports weeks ago to support and the answer I received is "we do not know why you didn't receive it, but we will look into it".  Also I never received an answer on why I was getting so many alerts when I first stated eero plus, Coming from a Cujo/Netgear setup I received 1-2 threat alerts threats per week.  With eero plus, I started at 2 threats/week then quickly jumped to over 100/week then dropping down to zero recently without any change in my setup or users.  I use Chrome as a browser and Webroot Security on my computers and between the two they are excellent at stopping threats.  If the threats come from of my other 35 IOT devices, which ones and why?

As I have stated before, the eero system is excellent, but eero Plus, without a detailed report, could just as well be a random number generator.

applejax  Thanks for the feedback, I'm happy to pass that along as the team continues future development of eero Plus.

      In regards to:

If you are getting these numbers recently, that would be the report. Or, have the emails stopped and those were the last reports you received?

Richard1864 Please contact support so we can take a look and see why you are not receiving your weekly reports.

In regards to why there was no mention, depending on when you signed up, the reports may not have been mentioned at that time. However, receiving the reports isn't dependent on when you signed up for eero Plus, as all users should receive them.

Our team will be happy to take a look at what is going on. Thanks!

I haven't received any reports either.  Was a bit disappointed I couldnt get them on-demand.  The only benefit I've seen so far in erro plus is the add filtering (works really well), but I need reports! reports on usage, security threats and the source/destination of those threats, etc etc!  REPORTS PLEASE :)

Same here, to be honest though the reports aren’t useful enough for me to even care that much. Not disagreeing with you that they should come reliably but I hardly miss them in their current form.

Just got mine as well. I agree that it is useless, but we are paying for it so we should get it.  Not even sure what it is actually monitoring, so I just cancelled my subscription.  Guess I was spoiled by Cujo!

Sunday May 20, 2018. Have restarted eero Plus and got a weekly report 9 days ago. No regular report in 9 days tho but am expecting them every Friday.  Anybody else not receiving the weekly reports (before I seek eero support directly) ?
