Printer only prints when laptop is using same beacon

Having issues with my printer on eero network (it's an HP OfficeJet 4650 if that helps).

My printer is in my garage and it's connecting to the garage beacon.

My laptop is usually connected to the main eero in my living room.

My printer wont connect if my laptop is using the living room eero. It only connects if my laptop is also using the garage beacon. 

I can't figure out how to fix this.

    I'm having the same issue, but in my situation I have both Gen 1 and Gen 2.  What I found is that there is a BUG with the Gen 2 where you can't print when using a Gen2 when either of the computer or the printer is connected to a Gen 2.  This problem started to occur with the latest software v3.15.0-588.  Apparently this version is really buggy when you have both Gen 1 and Gen 2 running.  I've now found about 4 separate bugs, and it's becoming completely unusable.  The previous version 3.14.1 was really stable.
